Library Of Lost And Found

We are thrilled to announce the official launch of SAVVY Kwata in Limbe, Cameroon, with the opening celebration titled “Library of Lost and Found.”
This is not just a library. It is an archival expansion and reorientation, created to gather and honour the works of the published and unpublished, the written and the spoken, the danced and the sung thoughts of African authors and creators.
We recognise that too often, archives and libraries have been spaces of violence, places of malevolent categorisation, imperial fetishisation, and hegemonic control over knowledge. This library is not that.
Instead, we offer a living, breathing space where knowledge is tended, expanded, and celebrated not in isolation, but in collective jubilation.
The Library of Lost and Found is a house where fading tales can regain their vibrance. A place where the narrative arcs of indigenous tongues can be emboldened. A space where stories flourish beyond the spine of a book, beyond the rigid confines of “beginning” and “end.”
Think of it as a community garden: an ecosystem of epistemological and methodological diversity. A garden for ideas, voices, and traditions that once struggled to find soil soft enough to take root.
This is that soil.
